NCW is looking for a Crane Mechanic in Virginia for Full Time Work


JOB SUMMARY
 The Crane Mechanic is responsible for the inspection, diagnosis, repair and maintenance of various equipment including but not limited to mobile hydraulic cranes, crawler cranes, rough terrain cranes, boom trucks, carry decks, forklifts, and semi-trucks and trailers across various job sites.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Perform inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on various diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, exhaust systems, braking systems, and air conditioning systems, and other essential equipment systems for various vehicles and equipment across various job sites and Company shops.
 • Familiarity to utilize Cummins INSITE diagnostic software to analyze and troubleshoot engine performance, faults, and sensor data.
 • Familiarity to utilize Diesel Laptops diagnostic tools and platforms to assess and repair vehicle systems efficiently.                                         
 • Conduct routine maintenance on equipment including various diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, exhaust systems, braking systems, and air conditioning systems, and other essential equipment systems to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
 • Ability to work with diagnostic equipment for troubleshooting and repairs.
 • Evaluate and make recommendations regarding repairs and maintenance of equipment.
 • Complete all appropriate documentation and ensure records/logs of all maintenance activities are kept.
• Ordering needed parts from approved vendors, stocking and restocking of routine parts and supplies
 • Complete service tasks as assigned.
 • Report details as needed for warranty coverage.
 • Read, understand, and interpret correctly operating manuals, parts manuals, blueprints, schematics and technical drawings.
 • Understand and comply with all safety and environmental requirements.
 • Follow appropriate safety procedures and maintain service logs of repair status and working hours.
 • Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as needed per repairs.
 • Comply with all applicable federal, state, and company safety laws, guidelines, and best practices.
 • Ensure compliance of all safety procedures and policies while promoting company’s safety culture.
 • Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
• High School Diploma or GED required.
 • 3-5 years of experience.
 • Valid Driver’s License.
 • CDL preferred.
• * ASE Certification in various role related fields and tasks as required by ASE or equivalent certification in equipment repair including brakes, air conditioning, hydraulic, transmission, engine systems or related items is preferred.
• Familiarity with Cummins INSITE diagnostic software
 • Familiarity with Diesel Laptops diagnostic tools and platforms.

SKILLS / KEY COMPETENCIES
• Maintain valid driver’s license and ability to pass MVR requirements.
 • Ability to diagnose, repair, and maintain equipment in compliance with industry standards.
 • Proficiency in using Cummins INSITE for in-depth engine diagnostics and fault analysis.
 • Expertise in using Diesel Laptops tools and platforms to analyze and repair a wide range of diesel vehicle systems.
 • Experience with developing and conducting maintenance schedules to keep vehicles and equipment running efficiently.
 • Ability to diagnose and resolve complex mechanical and electrical issues, often under time constraints.
 • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings.
 • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
 • Exercise discretion and independent judgment when handling day-to-day information.
 • Excellent time-management skills to plan, organize, and prioritize tasks and responsibilities to meet deadlines and adjust to changing priorities.
 • Ability to work cooperatively across all levels delivering on commitments – results oriented.
 • Ability to complete work with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
 • Ability to work under pressure to meet department targets and deadlines.
 • Able to work non-routine hours, when necessary.
 • Ability and willingness to travel as required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
• Ability to work safely outdoors, exposed to heat, humidity, cold, rain, and around possible heavy traffic areas.
 • Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.
 • Ability to operate job-related tools.
 • Constantly perform repeating motions that may include feet, leg, wrists, hands and/or fingers.
 • Work that includes moving and/or lifting objects up to 50 pounds, carrying at least 30 pounds and up to 150 pounds with help.
 • Ability to frequently walk on uneven surfaces, including natural ground in varying weather conditions.
