Summary of Position

As a Bodily Injury Claims Adjuster, your primary responsibility is to investigate, evaluate, and negotiate bodily injury claims arising from various incidents, such as automobile accidents, personal injuries, or other related incidents. You will work closely with claimants, medical professionals, legal representatives, and internal teams to ensure fair and timely resolution of claims.

Essential Job Requirements

 

1. Claim Investigation:

  • Conduct thorough investigations into the circumstances surrounding bodily injury claims.
  • Gather and analyze relevant information, including bodily injury demands, accident reports, medical records, and witness statements.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement, medical professionals, and experts to obtain critical information.

2. Claim Evaluation:

  • Assess the extent of bodily injuries and determine liability based on policy coverage and legal regulations.
  • Utilize medical knowledge and expertise to evaluate the nature and severity of injuries.
  • Analyze and interpret insurance policies to determine coverage and limitations.

3. Communication:

  • Communicate effectively with claimants, policyholders, attorneys, and medical professionals.
  • Provide clear and concise explanations of coverage, claim decisions, and settlement offers.
  • Maintain ongoing communication to keep all parties informed about the claim status.

4. Negotiation and Settlement:

  • Negotiate fair and equitable settlements with claimants, legal representatives, and other involved parties.
  • Evaluate settlement options, considering legal and financial implications.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, state regulations, and legal requirements during the negotiation process.

5. Documentation and Reporting:

  • Prepare detailed and accurate claim documentation, including investigation reports, settlement agreements, and correspondence.
  • Maintain organized claim files and databases to track the progress of each claim.
  • Provide regular updates and reports to management regarding claim trends and performance.

6. Customer Service:

Required Education

  • High school graduate, college level courses with an emphasis on business studies helpful
  • Insurance adjuster license desired

Required Experience

  • 2-3 years of BI claims experience, helpful
