Job description

General Summary
The Designer - Belts and Fashion Accessories is responsible for developing a product line representative of the brand, reporting directly to the Senior Design Director, and collaborating with the design team. This position supports the Wholesale Accessories business.
The responsibilities described below are considered essential functions of the role. This position is based in our NYC office and requires working on-site.
Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate to design and develop on-trend accessories based on design direction and line plan provided by Senior Manager
  • Create detailed sketches, CADs, and tech packs/spec sheets for development
  • Collaborate closely with senior designer and cross-functional teams to ensure timely and accurate execution
  • Develop prints, graphics, and surface embellishments where applicable
  • Manage multiple categories, and meet all milestones and calendar due dates
  • Stay informed on competitor activity, market trends, and consumer insights relevant to the market
  • Help with sample organization
  • Able to manage multiple projects and deadlines with support and resources as needed
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned

Specific Job Skills:
Essential duties include
  • Knowledge and experience with Photoshop and Illustrator
  • Must be able to CAD both flat sketches and photo-real
  • Clear communication skills are mandatory as this position corresponds daily with overseas vendors to support development, troubleshoot issues, and ensure design intent is executed accurately

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 4-6 years' experience in Belts and Soft Accessories
  • Proficiency with MAC computers
  • Strong knowledge of Adobe applications, particularly Photoshop and Illustrator
  • A strong understanding of the brand DNA.
  • Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, and organizational skills

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $80,000-$90,000. Ranges are based on various factors such as relevant skillset, training, years of experience related to the current job description, education, and our organizational structure.
