General Description of the Role:
The Production Manager oversees the placement and execution of manufacturing activities, ensuring timely and accurate production flow through close monitoring of key milestones and schedules. This role maintains ongoing communication with external vendors and internal partners to ensure alignment, resolve issues, and support product integrity from development through final delivery.
Job Mission
The Production Manager performs a wide range of duties in support of the Production Department, including but not limited to the responsibilities outlined below.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage samples including tracking, and coordinating shipments with factories
  • Managing production planning and inventory reporting including collection and monitoring of Time & Action Calendar (T&A) to ensure adherence to the production timelines.
  • Manage style setup and maintain cost sheets, ensuring alignment with company margin goals
  • Manage production T&A calendars, including vendor communication and price negotiations
  • Follow up with factories to obtain tracking information, delivery schedules, production samples, and bulk production updates
  • Oversee quality control and product testing, and proactively coordinate with the QC team to ensure production timelines and delivery dates are not at risk
  • Build and maintain relationships with external factories and vendors
  • Partner closely with the Sourcing team to manage and follow up on sampling activities
  • Collaborate with the inbound logistics team to prioritize orders for timely delivery to customers and warehouse
  • Ensure accurate and timely purchase order entry and maintain oversight of all PO data
  • Work with Sales to ensure customer purchase orders align with cut purchase orders.
  • Maintain weekly production status and at-risk reports and communicate updates to the Sales team in a timely manner.
  • Ensure factories comply with customer packing and labeling requirements.
  • Review all Packing List and update carton dimensions and weights in the ERP system
  • Coordinate with factories and the logistics team to ensure timely order booking with the freight forwarder
  • Maintain organized production files and ensure accurate product record-keeping
  • Manage and support a remote team member responsible for production data entry and administrative tasks

Skills & Competencies:
  • 5+ years of experience in production management
  • Experience working with off-price retailers required
  • Experience working directly with factories in China strongly preferred
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required
  • Attention to detail, strong communication, organizational, multitasking, and follow-up skills
  • Excellent problem-solving ability, high sense of urgency

Salary: The anticipated base salary is $85k-$95k annually. Actual compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, education, internal equity, and location.
