The Wholesale Planner is responsible for financial planning, forecasting, and inventory management across the wholesale channel (department stores, specialty retailers, and off-price). This role manages account-level forecasting, sku & size level forecasting, inventory analysis, and reporting to support sales growth, maximize inventory productivity, and align with overall brand objectives.

The role will partner closely with Sales, Merchandising, Production, and Operations to identify opportunities, mitigate inventory risks, and provide business insights.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create monthly and account-level financial plans for the wholesale channel; including key KPIs such as sales, receipts, gross margin, returns, discounts, and allowances
  • Develop and maintain sku and size level forecasts to support quarterly buys and inventory investments
  • Determine buy quantities and timing, partnering with Production to ensure inventory is purchased and delivered in alignment with sales plans and customer demand
  • Partner with Sales & Merchandising teams to align on replenishment opportunities and risks
  • Monitor inventory health across multiple warehouses and accounts, including weeks of supply, sell-through, on-order positions, and inventory risks
  • Recommend actions to improve inventory productivity, including reorders, cancellations, and RTV opportunities
  • Create and distribute weekly and monthly wholesale performance reporting, including style selling performance, sales bookings, inventory, and financial recaps
  • Build and maintain planning templates, dashboards, and reporting processes, ensuring data accuracy and timely reporting
  • Monitor and maintain wholesale data accuracy, proactively identifying discrepancies and implementing corrective actions as needed
  • Support quarterly market prep by providing budgets, historical sales, and ad hoc reporting
  • Partner with Sales prior to and during market appointments by providing selling insights and assortment recommendations
  • Conduct post-season hindsight analysis and provide recommendations to improve future business performance
  • Participate in quarterly profit meetings with key accounts
  • Analyze account selling by style, color, and size to inform replenishment & future buys

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience in wholesale planning, inventory management, or demand forecasting, preferably within apparel or fashion
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and recommend actions
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, v-lookups/x-lookup, IF formulas) and experience with planning tools/ERP/BI systems.
  • Netsuite & Skypad experience preferred
  • Understanding of apparel life cycles, fashion newness, size curves, fit behavior, and consumer trends
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, growth-oriented business with shifting priorities and tight deadlines
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Team player with a willingness to collaborate, support the broader business, and continuously improve processes
