Position Summary
Our E.Gluck Holdings division is looking for a CMF (Color/Material/Finish) Designer to contribute to the evolution of our Men's Watch & Jewelry collections. The ideal candidate should have prior industrial design experience developing physical product and possess a positive, productive mentality.
Location: This is a fulltime position based at our Midtown headquarters located in New York, New York. Fridays remote.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Designing wearable product accessories under the direction of the Creative SVP with guidance from the Director of Industrial Design.
  • Producing product designs of Men's Watches / Men's Jewelry / Branded Accessories / Packaging Concepts.
  • Ability to explore ideas efficiently and communicate them through material references and/or hand sketches
  • Creating effective 2D Design concepts and assisting with 3D Files/Renderings when necessary
  • Willing to create high quality work, whether developing your own concept or the concepts of someone else
  • Preparing specification packets for all design projects to visually communicate details for the factory/supplier
  • Sharing updates of competitive product releases in the wearable category
  • Innovative mindset when confronted with project budgetary restraints
  • Participation during project brainstorms & internal design reviews
  • Partner with product development on production and key project requests
  • Building digital presentations of concepts to easily communicate designs with noncreative departments
  • Possess a curious passion for new techniques, materials, and opportunities to create exciting products

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design or related design field
  • 2 years' work experience in wearable consumer products (non-apparel)
  • Excellent Skills in 2D Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Knowledge with 3D Solidworks & Keyshot Rendering are a plus
  • Portfolio that demonstrates color, material, and finish (CMF) applied to projects with story/rationale
  • Knowledge in Basic Manufacturing Techniques
  • Experience in building Specification/Technical documents for Suppliers/Engineers
  • Organizational skills to prioritize projects across multiple brands and categories
  • Excellent note taking skills and digital file organization

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge in the Wearable Accessories Industry (Watches, Jewelry, and/or Packaging Design)
  • Understanding of Ergonomics & Proportions in wearable products
  • Experience working with materials & finishes including Metals, Ceramics, Rubbers, Gemstones, & Plated Metals.
  • Basic knowledge of material tolerances when constructing designs concepts
