Job description

Green Top Farms was founded by a farmer-turned-public-school-teacher who was troubled by the lack of fresh, nutritious foods for many New York families. For the last ten years we have built a high volume food service, catering and delivery business. Throughout that time we have remained deeply involved in working to provide better food resources and education for school children, food pantries, and the broader community. We have also pursued our vision for a more sustainable and equitable food system. We spent the majority of our energies during the COVID Pandemic serving NYC City Agencies in the provision of food for the underserved, as well as non-profit agencies throughout NYC.

Our mission is to build a more sustainable and equitable food system, starting by reconnecting consumers and local farmers. We believe the results of strengthening that connection are better nutrition, more tasty food, greater social justice, and reduced environmental impacts. Our menus reflect this attention to bringing nutritious, delicious food to those who need it most.

What You'll Do:

* Must have a valid US Driver's License*

  • Reading BEO(s) (order sheets), pick and packing daily deliveries based on the BEO(s)
  • Provide most if not all communication regarding deliveries via our communication system, especially when driver is unable to do so
  • Perform pre-trip inspections of B.E.O and loaded product to ensure accuracy of order
  • Ride to and deliver clients orders according to a predetermined route and delivery schedule
  • Notifies Dispatch Coordinator of any incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage
  • Must possess the ability to work outdoors and in a cold environment that averages 30F daily
  • Requires accurate identification of product to ensure the correct product, in satisfactory condition, is located on the sprinter and unloaded at client locations.
  • Accurately and efficiently pick orders, placing them in totes, boxes, and crates
  • Rotate stock and inspect expiration dates on all products. Report to management on stock about to expire
  • Receive and verify all deliveries and locate the proper pick locations.
  • Perform end-of-shift tasks including, but not limited to; trash and cardboard removal, sweeping, cleaning, disinfecting, and organizing for the next day
  • Comply with all company policies, rules & regulations regarding safety, personal hygiene (GMP's), operational methods and food safety guidelines
  • May have to drive company vehicles, on occasion to help ensure all orders are delivered in a timely manner.
