What are the job duties:

  • Oyster Harvesting
  • Oyster Seed Planting and Husbandry
  • Repair and maintain farm infrastructure
  • Operate small and heavy medium machinery such as forklifts, tractors, trucks and boats
  • Assist with ranch and environmental clean-up; must be compliant with all regulations
  • Equipment maintenance which includes cleaning of equipment
  • Equipment and site maintenance which includes regular cleaning of equipment, production facilities, and gear storage yard
  • Communicate via email and/or verbally with other employees, managers, and guests
  • Abide by the Hog Island Company rules, policies, and procedures, including safety trainings and meetings, as defined in the Staff Guide
  • Report to work in a timely manner and in accordance with the defined schedule

  • An interest in working in an outdoor marine environment in and around Tomales Bay
  • Experience or interest in Boat Captain (training will be provided), a plus!
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Ability to operate a forklift (training will be provided)
  • Ability to operate power tools (training will be provided)
  • The physical ability to stand (with breaks) for up to 10 hours per day and lift up to 50 pounds
  • Bilingual preferred
  • Flexible availability

Physical Demands

The Farm Crew Worker is a physically demanding job which includes the lifting in excess of 50 lbs.
