Description

Join our team at Akins Ranch, where we prioritize cleanliness and safety in our facility operations. We are currently seeking a motivated individual to fill the role of Sanitor I. The Janitorial / Sanitation position’s primary role is to support the janitorial and sanitation functions for the meat processing facility and offices including maintenance, processing, QA, and office areas.This position is integral to maintaining a hygienic environment across various departments, ensuring our commitment to excellence in sanitation practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • · Perform cleaning of offices, bathrooms, warehouse, break room, and occasional parking lot and surrounding areas.
  • · Restocking items such as toilet paper, soap, and other supplies as specified.
  • · Operate cleaning systems and equipment as trained and specified.
  • · Utilize cleaning equipment, soap dispenser spray, water spray, etc.
  • · Cleans and sanitizes production equipment as needed to support changeovers, etc.
  • Maintain plant cleanliness (i.e., Empties scrap bins into compactor - cleans empty bins – cleans compactor area)
  • Dispose of rendering tubs from the processing room to the main bins.
  • Wash all bins, trays, machine parts and ensure that they are sanitized
  • · Maintain a safe, clean, organized work area throughout the facility and common areas.
  • Ensure that working lines are protected from overspray and cross-contamination by utilizing temporary screens.
  • Occasionally remove machine parts (belts, rollers, guards, etc.) to be cleaned and sanitized.
  • Ensure internal drains are clean and working
  • · Performs minor repairs, paint walls, etc. as needed.
  • · Perform all other duties as assigned that are necessary, required, or directed by the supervisor.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Physical Demands and Working Environment

The physical demands listed below are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be provided to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

  • Lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.
  • Must be able to withstand cold temperatures.
  • Specific vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Standing, walking, and climbing for 8+ hours a day.
  • Intermediate physical activity.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in sanitation or manufacturing janitorial roles preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and adherence to cleanliness standards.

  • Basic understanding of sanitation chemicals and their proper usage.
