Location: Visalia 12310 Avenue 368 Visalia CA 93291
Hourly Rate: $34.02 (Overtime and weekends may be required)
Shift: 2nd Shift 2 pm - 10:30 pm Shift Differential $0.40 hour
Position Summary
The Bulk Group Leader serves as the primary support to the Shift Supervisor, helping oversee bulk production operations while promoting a culture of safety, quality, and accountability. This role is responsible for training employees, supporting production activities, coordinating bulk product movements, monitoring food safety requirements, and ensuring products are produced and shipped according to customer and company standards.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong manufacturing experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to motivate and develop employees in a fast-paced production environment.
This position reports directly to the Tank Farm Operations Supervisor.
Key Responsibilities
  • Support and assist the Shift Supervisor in overseeing daily bulk production and shipping operations.
  • Train new employees on the safe and efficient operation of production equipment, systems, and bulk handling processes.
  • Promote and reinforce compliance with food safety, quality, GMP, and personal hygiene requirements.
  • Monitor production activities to ensure products meet customer specifications and quality standards.
  • Identify and communicate non-standard operating conditions to management, including recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Complete production reports, shift documentation, and operational records accurately and timely.
  • Support HACCP and Critical Control Point (CCP) monitoring requirements, including:
    • Pasteurization processes
    • Juice load-out and packaging screen verification
    • Tanker receiving and loading activities
    • Packaging integrity verification
  • Promote workplace safety and ensure employees follow all safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Assist and provide coverage for production operators as needed.
  • Coordinate the loading and unloading of tanker trucks and ensure shipments are completed according to Product Management instructions.
  • Verify product transfers, inventory movements, and bulk handling activities are performed accurately and efficiently.
  • Ensure employees consistently follow established operating procedures and quality standards.
  • Maintain professional relationships with employees, customers, vendors, and visitors.
  • Demonstrate dependable attendance, punctuality, and a positive leadership approach.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support operational needs.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of manufacturing experience, preferably within citrus, food, beverage, or related processing industries.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of leadership experience.
  • Knowledge of citrus processing equipment, bulk product handling, and manufacturing operations preferred.
  • Basic computer skills, including the ability to operate touchscreen systems and production software.
  • Forklift certification or the ability to obtain certification.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish skills are highly desirable.
  • Post-secondary education, technical training, or industry certifications are a plus.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work schedules.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Frequent walking throughout the facility, including climbing stairs and ladders.
  • Ability to work both on the production floor and in an office environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis.
  • Ability to work under pressure while maintaining safety, quality, and productivity standards.
