Job description

Responsibilities:

Animal Cuddling Events:

- Act as a gracious hostess for animal cuddling sessions, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere for guests.

- Greet and orient guests upon arrival, providing information about the cuddling activities and safety guidelines.

- Monitor the cuddling sessions to ensure the safety and well-being of both guests and animals.

- Respond professionally to guest inquiries and concerns.

- Assist with feeding, watering, and maintaining cleanliness in animal areas as needed.


Birthday Parties:

- Serve as a friendly and engaging hostess for birthday parties held on site.

- Welcome guests and assist them with settling in and setting up for the celebration.

- Collaborate with the day manager to coordinate additional activities such as wagon rides or special animal encounters.

- Dress appropriately according to party themes, enhancing the festive atmosphere.

- Maintain vigilance over the safety and comfort of all party participants, including guests and animals.

- Promptly report any incidents, injuries, or unusual behavior involving animals.


Field Trips/Group Tours:

- Lead and coordinate professional farm tours for school groups and adult visitors

- Provide engaging, age-appropriate educational content about farm operations, agriculture, and sustainability

- Guide guests safely through the farm while maintaining a welcoming and informative environment

- Adapt tour delivery to suit different group sizes, ages, and learning levels

- Answer questions and interact with guests to enhance their overall experience


General Responsibilities:

- Ensure that all guests adhere to safety rules and guidelines throughout their visit.

- Maintain a clean and organized environment in guest and animal areas: mucking stalls, cleaning additional animal waste, refilling feed and water as directed.

- Uphold high standards of customer service, addressing guest needs and ensuring a positive experience for all visitors.

- Work collaboratively with other staff members to ensure smooth operations during events and activities.


Skills and Qualifications:

- Warm and approachable demeanor, with excellent interpersonal skills.

- Comfortable and experienced in interacting with both children and adults, as well as animals.

- Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

- Ability to adapt to various party themes and dress accordingly (e.g., cowgirl, princess).

- Prior experience in animal care or hospitality is a plus 

-Willingness and readiness to jump into the position and can learn quickly as we jump into festival season


We are looking for staff to help on the weekends as well as weekdays. It is a part-time position and there are a number of staff within this team who will be called upon for shifts throughout the season.
