Job Summary and Purpose:
The Sr. Poultry Intestinal Health Nutritionist serves as a key technical authority in optimizing gastrointestinal health and performance in poultry production systems. This role provides advanced scientific, technical, and field support focused on the prevention and control of enteric diseases, with particular emphasis on Eimeria species, coccidiosis management, and integrated intestinal health strategies.
The position combines expertise in feed additives, anticoccidial programs, and vaccine-based solutions to deliver data-driven recommendations that enhance bird performance, support antimicrobial reduction initiatives, and improve customer outcomes.
Acting as a subject matter expert, the individual collaborates cross-functionally and works closely with the Vaccination Services Equipment Group, Ceva veterinary and technical managers, commercial sales and marketing teams, and US poultry customers to troubleshoot issues, resolve problems, and validate effective intestinal health programs across diverse production systems.
Responsibilities and Key Duties:
• Ensure product leadership by creating a high internal and external level of confidence in the Ceva products utilized for preventive veterinary medicine: Implement the local customer plan based on the national strategy and guidelines. Working in the field with customers, implementing effective market support, follow-up of product deployment, and generating evidence on product success. Review and update the plan of every customer during monthly meetings with teams and managers. Collaborate on the conception of technical articles.
• Focus on continuous improvement with customers' needs and relationships by organizing regular visits, events, or calls with key customers. Collaborate with all local teams to ensure execution of the plan.
• Provide customer guidance, advisory support, and troubleshooting by ensuring responsive, impactful, and actionable field visits. Provide professional consultation and communication daily, weekly, or monthly based on customer needs and requests.
• Training, education, and knowledge management by attending continuous training delivered by corporate, congress, seminars and events focused on preventive veterinary medicine, disease and Ceva products. Self-train in new technical updates to maintain a high level of expertise and share the knowledge with the veterinary services team. Develop training on technical activities with the aim of sharing knowledge with customers. Train local Ceva team members to support them with the customers.
• Collect and report customer feedback, including data results, success stories, and emerging issues, by monitoring product performance and receiving, collecting, and analyzing customer samples. Share findings with customers, maintain records for future projects, ensure the quality of internally and externally derived data, and provide continuous updates to the manager on achievements, problems, and customer developments. Communicate activity protocols and trial results to colleagues.
• Manage scientific expertise and professional networks by maintaining relationships with animal health institutes, laboratories, universities, key opinion leaders, and equipment suppliers. Provide diagnostic and expert support as needed.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for coccidiosis and intestinal health for the U.S. technical and support teams.

Qualifications:
Education
DVM and/or Ph.D. required, combined DVM/Ph.D. preferred. Extensive experience monitoring emerging trends in intestinal health, including antimicrobial reduction, resistance development, and alternative control strategies.
Training in poultry diseases, nutrition, and management is required.
Work Experience
Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in the poultry industry, with demonstrated industry knowledge and leadership preferred.
Recognized experience working with the poultry industry on intestinal diseases and nutritional health.
Physical Requirements:
Able to read, write, and communicate in English.
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift 25 lbs.
Working Conditions:
Ability to work in commercial hatcheries and poultry houses and travel overnight. Ability to drive in a vehicle or sit on an airplane for up to 8 hours per day.
Travel Required:
Up to 50% of domestic travel required, with occasional increases based on business needs.
One to two international trips per year may be required.
