JOB SUMMARY:

First Aid technician primarily renders basic first aid to Creekstone Team Members and performs health-related records/data file management duties, under general supervision.

They will be responsible for being an example to other Team Members using a continuous improvement mentality and will work to perpetuate a “Creekstone Proud” culture through attitude and actions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Renders basic first aid to employees maintains accompanying records.

• Contacts medical personnel (ambulance and hospital) in emergencies and maintains accompanying records, as directed.

• Completes the drug screening process, as needed, or required.

• Responsible for the confidentiality of medical information.

• Tracks and reports bloodborne pathogen incidents as directed.

• Assists with the administration of medication required for a workplace injury.

• Updates and maintains health service records.

• Orders and maintains first aid supplies.

• Maintains health service office in a clean and orderly manner.

• Prepares and maintains incident reports, and other information, as directed.

• Monitors or checks assigned areas to assist in enforcing safety rules.

• Administer first aid and/or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation/Automated External Defibrillator (CPR/AED), as necessary.

• Conforms to safety standards as prescribed.

• Performs other tasks related to the position, as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
• Experience in occupational health or emergency nursing, preferred.

• Knowledge of case management, workers’ compensation, and OSHA regulations, preferred.

• Ability to attend and successfully complete annual medication assistance training and tests.

• Ability to participate and complete initial and ongoing First Aid/Safety Assistant (FASA) awareness training and staff development.

• Ability to prepare, organize, and maintain accurate health records or reports.

• Ability to interpret health and safety standards.

• Ability to identify and prioritize health-related incidents.

• Ability to learn and apply laws, rules, and regulations relating to health activities.

• Ability to maintain security of confidential information.

• Ability to determine when to act independently and when to contact outside medical personal.

• Ability to work cooperatively with employees and other medical personnel.

• Ability to recognize and report hazards and apply safe work methods.

• Strong computer skills (MS Word, MS Excel).

• Bilingual English/Spanish, preferred.
