Why does the job exist?
This position will work collaboratively with other management positions within CYFD Protective Services, Juvenile Justice and Behavioral Health, as well as other CYFD divisions. The incumbent will provide administrative management and supervision to statewide in-home services supervisors. This position may be responsible for providing clinical supervision and consultation with in-home services supervisors and in-home services workers across the state as it relates to in-home services cases.
How does it get done?
  • Provide effective administrative and clinical management/supervision to assigned In-Home Services Supervisors statewide. 40%;
  • Utilize community partnerships to support the provision of family centered services to those families in need of in-home, prevention, and family preservation services. 20%;
  • Conduct quality assurance and performance improvement activities in partnership with internal In-Home Services Supervisors and Practitioners statewide. 20%;
  • Provide guidance, oversight and support for the review of referrals for potential In-Home Services intervention. Provide consultation to In-Home Services Supervisors and Practitioners through various mechanisms to include case staffing, Family Centered Meeting(FCM)/Individual Planning Meeting (IPM) meetings, warm handoffs, etc. 10%;
  • Function in a leadership role and conduct other duties as assigned to achieve agency mission. 10%.
    Ideal Candidate
    Provide direct supervision to assigned staff and lead the local county office management team; Review, assign and monitor in-home, voluntary services cases designed to address the safety needs of the child and enhance child and family well-being; Review and approve unit's work to ensure the provision of quality family centered services; Review practice and work collaboratively with internal and external partners to ensure the provision of quality services so as to achieve the goals of safety, permanency and well-being for children and families served by the agency.
    Minimum Qualification
    Master's Degree in any field of study from an accredited college or university and four (4) years of experience in the management and direct provision of child welfare services, policy and procedure writing, and program research and development. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university and/or direct experience in child welfare totaling ten (10) years may substitute for the required education and experience.
    Employment Requirements
    Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License. Pre-employment background investigation is required and is conditional pending results.
    Working Conditions
    Work is performed in an office setting: late hours, weekends, on-call and callback work may be required. Will be exposed to regular periods of video display terminal and keyboard usage and stressful situations. Travel may be required. Possible exposure to irate clientele. Incumbent will work under stress and frequent time constraints.
