Description
Concern Housing is seeking a Part Time Cook to be responsible for food preparation and to maintain sanitation and cleanliness of the kitchen.
Days/Hours: Saturday; 11am - 7pm & Sunday; 9:30am - 3:30pm
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Ensure that all food and products are consistently prepared and served according to the recipes, portioning, cooking and serving standards.
  • Prepare all required paperwork, including forms, reports and schedules in an organized and timely manner.
  • Ensure that all equipment is kept clean and kept in excellent working condition through personal inspection and by following the agency's maintenance policies and procedures.
  • Control food cost and usage by following proper requisition of products from storage areas, product storage procedures, standard recipes and waste control procedures.
  • Be knowledgeable of agency policies regarding personnel and report any concerns/problems to program director.
  • Responsible for maintaining appropriate cleaning schedules for kitchen floors, mats, walls, hoods, other equipment and food storage areas.
  • Check and maintain proper food holding and refrigeration temperature control points.
  • Ensure open communication with full time Cook when ingredients are running low or if there is any feedback from clients.
  • Responsible for ensuring all scheduled cleaning is completed.
  • Remain current with all Agency required compliance documents and trainings.

Requirements: A minimum of 2-years' experience in varied kitchen positions including food preparation, line cook, fry cook and expediter along with at least 6-months experience in a similar capacity. Must be able to communicate clearly with managers, kitchen and dining room personnel and guests, and frequently lift up to 50 lbs. Must have availability to work in a standing position for long periods of time.
Concern Housing offers an Agency Sponsored Retirement Plan and Employee Sponsored 403(b) Retirement Plan for part time employees.
