Job description

We are seeking a dedicated Family Law Attorney for a full-time role, based most anywhere in Michigan. The attorney will manage a varied caseload, offering legal counsel and representation in family law matters such as divorce, custody, and domestic partnerships. Day-to-day responsibilities include reviewing and resolving legal issues, drafting and filing motions, conducting depositions, attending court hearings, and engaging in mediation or trial proceedings. The role requires maintaining open communication with clients, collaborating with legal associates, and ensuring timely, effective resolutions for cases.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 3 solid years of experience practicing Family Law

  • The ability to handle legal cases involving divorce, custody, child support, and domestic partnership matters

  • Proficiency in handling Legal Issues, including case analysis and client consultations

  • Experience drafting and filing Motions in alignment with state and federal court procedures

  • Strong skills in Depositions and trial preparation, including communication with opposing counsel and participation in hearings

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and an active State Bar license in Michigan

  • Excellent research, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities

  • Compassionate approach to clients and the ability to maintain professionalism in sensitive and high-stress situations

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and organizational proficiency
