Position: Litigation Attorney Location: Flint, MI (Or Bloomfield Hills, MI OR Detroit, MI)Plunkett Cooney, one of the largest and most accomplished law firms in the Midwest, is seeking a litigation attorney to support attorneys in the Flint office. We are looking for a motivated attorney that can be available to begin supporting the office by handling matters, providing research, drafting documents and taking depositions. This position is not limited to Flint, geographically, and ideally, the candidate will be located in Flint with the possibility of working periodically in our Bloomfield Hills or Detroit offices.Requirements:Have at least 5 years of experience in a litigation practiceDeposition experienceBe proficient and independent handling litigation matters such as commercial litigation, premises liability, transportation, general negligence, property damage, construction and/or personal injury relatedPrior work experience as a clerk for a judge or court of appeals preferredExcellent research, legal brief writing and communication skills are requiredGeneral litigation motion writing and courtroom oral skillsGeneral understanding of medical recordsWorking knowledge of Michigan Court Rules and Rules of EvidenceWorking knowledge of Federal Rules of Civil ProcedureComfort level with learning new computer softwareJ.D. from an ABA-approved law schoolBe a member in good standing and active in the Michigan BarWe are seeking a well-rounded, dynamic, highly motivated lawyer, who has demonstrated an ability to compete and prosper in competitive and complex environments, with significant client contact.
