Driller Helper – Start Your Career in Geotechnical Drilling


Job Overview

  • Location: Winchester, Virginia (We are also hiring in our Culpeper, Virginia location. )
  • Job/Employment Type: Full Time
  • Project Scope: Residential, Commercial, and Government/Federal Drilling Projects
  • Mandatory Licenses & Certifications: Valid Driver's License


The Opportunity

You will join a steadily growing company with a 35-year legacy of professionalism and safety in the drilling industry. You will work alongside experienced professionals who prioritize your safety, professional development, and advancement to an operator position.


How You Will Make an Impact

  • Assist the Lead Driller with the efficient setup, operation, and breakdown of drill rigs.
  • Prepare and stage essential drilling tools, casing, and equipment at various project sites.
  • Collect and carefully label soil, rock, and groundwater samples according to project specifications.
  • Load and unload support vehicles safely while maintaining a clean, organized work area.
  • Perform routine equipment inspections and minor preventative maintenance to minimize project downtime.
  • Follow all company safety policies, including the mandatory use of personal protective equipment.


Required Qualifications & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent educational credential.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record for more than two consecutive years.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate legibly and clearly with clients and co-workers.
  • Absolute willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions and perform demanding physical labor.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 100 pounds as required by field operations.
  • Willingness to travel to out-of-town project assignments and work overtime as needed.


Preferred Qualifications & Experience

  • Previous experience in construction, heavy equipment operation, or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of construction safety standards and proper hand tool operation.
  • Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) or an interest in obtaining one. Possible pay increase for those with CDL.
