Job description

Charlotte's Best Nanny Agency is assisting a family in South Charlotte in finding a Part-Time Family Assistant for their two children, who are in pre-school and elementary school. The Family Assistant would typically be needed on Saturday 7:00 am - 2:00 pm, on Sunday 2:00 pm - 9:00 pm, and on two weeknights 5:00/5:30 pm - 8:30/9:30 pm.

The best Family Assistant would be collaborative, proactive, and supportive, working closely alongside Mom to help keep the household running smoothly. This individual will be comfortable dividing and conquering childcare responsibilities, stepping in where needed, and creating a positive, engaging environment for the children. When the children are with Mom, the Family Assistant will focus on completing the household duties listed below.

On Saturdays, the Family Assistant will assist with breakfast, help get the girls dressed, and engage them in play while Mom prepares for the day. While Mom manages activities, the Family Assistant will take the lead on household support, including running errands, grocery shopping, children's laundry, and maintaining family linens.

On Sundays, the role will focus on preparing the family for the week ahead. Responsibilities include ensuring homework is completed, spending time with the children as needed, and providing coverage if parents step out. The Family Assistant will also manage household inventory and keep supplies well-stocked.

During the two weeknights, the Family Assistant will support the evening routine by assisting with bedtime, engaging one child while Mom works with the other, and helping manage activities. This role is highly collaborative, often dividing responsibilities so each adult can focus on one child at a time.

Household Duties Include :

  • Children's laundry and family linens

  • Children's meal prep, including school lunches and prepping healthy snacks for the week.

  • Unloading/loading dishwasher

  • Wiping down kitchen counters and keeping common areas tidy

  • Grocery shopping and general errands

  • Keep a weekly inventory of groceries and home essentials

Pets: The family has a dog. The Family Assistant will not have any pet responsibilities.

Qualifications:

  • Have at least 3 years of professional nanny experience

  • Have a college degree or equivalent experience

  • Have a professional resume

  • Fill out a complete online application

  • Pass a national background check, including a driving record check

  • Have a valid driver's license

  • Have safe and reliable transportation

  • Have a minimum of three professional references

  • Be non-smoking/vaping

  • Nanny should be fluent in English; any additional languages are a plus
