Description:

The Blake’s Orchard Inc. The Funland Associate is the heart of our outdoor children's area, delivering a fun, safe, and memorable experience for guests of all ages. This role is responsible for managing guest access to Funland, overseeing animal care interactions, maintaining the play areas, and supporting the special events and festivals hosted throughout the summer and fall seasons. Funland Associates work exclusively within the Funland area and are the primary point of contact for guests visiting this section of the farm.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Greet guests warmly at the Funland entrance and verify tickets for admission
  • Process ticket sales and animal feed purchases accurately and efficiently
  • Answer guest questions about Funland attractions, animals, activities, and upcoming festivals
  • Ensure all guests — especially children — feel welcome, safe, and engaged throughout their visit
  • Supervise guest interactions with farm animals, ensuring safe and responsible feeding practices
  • Distribute animal feed to guests and educate them on proper feeding techniques
  • Monitor animal areas throughout the day for cleanliness, safety, and guest behavior
  • Report any animal health concerns or unusual behavior to a supervisor promptly
  • Monitor play areas to ensure safe use by children and compliance with posted rules
  • Perform routine walkthroughs of the Funland area to identify and address safety hazards
  • Keep play structures, pathways, and common areas clean and free of debris
  • Assist guests with questions about equipment and activity guidelines
  • Support setup, operation, and breakdown of Funland-specific activities during summer festivals
  • Engage guests with seasonal activities and help facilitate structured programming as needed
  • Maintain an enthusiastic, high-energy presence during peak event periods
  • Follow all safety protocols and report incidents or accidents to a supervisor immediately
  • Ensure Funland remains clean, organized, and visually appealing throughout each shift
  • Assist in opening and closing procedures for the Funland area
  • Adhere to all farm policies, health guidelines, and guest conduct standards

Education, Skills & Knowledge

  • Friendly, outgoing personality with a genuine love for working with children and families
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions (heat, rain, etc.) for extended periods

Working Conditions


This is a seasonal position based entirely outdoors within the Funland area. Associates must be prepared to work in all weather conditions typical of the season. Shifts are available on weekends, holidays, and weekdays during peak season. Hours vary based on operational needs, with increased availability required during summer festivals and the fall harvest season.
