What is a fall line?

A Fall Line is a geographical term describing the area where an upland region meets a coastal plain, resulting in waterfalls or rapids as rivers descend. In geography-related careers, professionals may study Fall Lines to understand their impact on settlement patterns, transportation, and urban development, as these areas often became sites for cities and mills due to water power. The term is not typically a job title itself, but may refer to roles in geology, geography, environmental science, or urban planning that focus on these regions.

Job description

Do you want to be part of a fun passionate team that creates unforgettable celebrations the Fall?
Now hiring for our busy Fall 2026 wedding and event season!
Fall is our busiest time of the year; we are looking for enthusiastic hospitality driven team members to join The JDK Group as catering event servers. If you are looking for a flexible part-time hospitality job or want to gain experience in the wedding and special events field, we'd love to meet you!
At The JDK Group, we bring exceptional food and elevated hospitality into unique venues across Central PA. We pride ourselves on anticipating needs, delivering service with heart, and creating experiences that stay with our clients long after the event ends.
Our servers are the heartbeat of every event. They bring energy, professionalism, and a welcoming spirit to weddings, celebrations, and corporate gatherings.
We believe a positive mindset, willingness to learn, and service to others are the keys to success, and we can train the rest. Catering Event Servers are both the front line of our client experience and the behind-the-scenes team that makes it all possible. You will help turn a blank space into a full-service dining experience, then deliver hospitality that makes guests feel cared for and celebrated.
What You'll Do
Set the Stage: Help transform spaces into memorable event experiences. From table settings to service stations to staging back-of-house areas, you'll help build the magic before guests arrive.
Serve with Heart: Be the friendly face of hospitality as you serve food and drinks with a smile and attention to detail.
Team Up: Work alongside people who have your back. Communicate, adapt, and problem-solve together to keep events running smoothly.
Hospitality Standards: Represent JDK with professionalism, warmth, and a team-first attitude.
Break It Down: At the end of the night, help reset the space and leave it better than we found it.
What It Takes
  • A positive attitude, clear communication, and an openness to learning new things.
  • Reliable transportation to events throughout Harrisburg, Lancaster, and York
  • Comfortable staying active on your feet throughout events and helping with lifting up to 25-50 lbs when needed
  • Availability to work evenings and weekends, with some holiday shifts during our busiest times
  • Previous catering or fine dining experience is a plus, but not required
  • ServSafe or bartending certifications are a bonus

The Details
  • Pay Range: $15-$17/hour (hourly, BOE, non-exempt)
  • Schedule: Part-time, event-based. Flexible shifts available. Regional scheduling may be possible.
  • Now hiring team members with year-round, weekday and weekend availability, especially for our busy fall season.
  • Uniform: Black button-down shirt, plain black tie, black slacks, black socks, and black non-slip shoes

Why Join Our Team
  • Flexible scheduling that fits around school, another job, or life
  • Hands-on experience in events and hospitality, with no two days ever the same
  • A team-first culture where you'll build friendships, gain confidence, and grow your skills
  • Opportunities to explore other departments and move into leadership or full-time roles
  • The chance to create memories for clients and be part of something bigger

When you join JDK, you are not just signing up for shifts. You are joining a network of people who:
  • Grow with our clients and create memories that last
  • Believe there is always something to learn in everything we do
  • Pledge integrity and take the time to do the right thing

If you are looking for, flexible part-time job this fall and enjoy working with people, we'd love to hear from you. Apply today and become part of one of Central Pennsylvania's premier catering and event teams. At JDK, serving with heart is what sets us apart.
