Job Overview

Fairview Range is hiring an experienced Registered Nurse to join our nursing leadership team as a Patient Care Supervisor (House Supervisor) in Hibbing, MN.

The House Supervisor is an integral part of our care team, providing 24/7 leadership coverage for all departments in the hospital. As House Supervisor, you supervise the multiple units within the hospital including but not limited to Behavioral Health, Women’s Health and Birth Center, Acute Care, Surgery, and Emergency Services. This role is integral to keeping hospital operations running safely and efficiently. This position functions in collaboration with department leadership to assure services are provided in a safe, efficient, and cost-effective manner that improves patient safety, quality, and patient/employee/physician happiness.

Schedule: The shift length will be 12-hours on the day/night shift. Weekends: Every third.

As a Patient Care Supervisor, you will be responsible for:

  • Supervising staffing throughout the facility.
  • Working closely with our Staffing and Scheduling department, to ensure adequate staffing in each nursing department.  This will be based on patient needs and in response to changing conditions within Fairview Range.
  • Assisting with development and completion of annual staff competencies, job care requirements, and medical record deficiencies. Supervising compliance and taking action in the case of non-compliance.
  • Providing ongoing positive and constructive feedback and coaching for employees.
  • Ensuring unit activities are conducted in compliance with specific labor regulations/contracts.
  • Directing and supervising the day-to-day bed capacity activities of the Hospital.  You will do this by assessing and advising the flow of patients from all access avenues through admission, discharge and transfer at RRHS.
  • Using creative solutions to resolve problems and keep operations running efficiently.
  • Assisting with patient care as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • 3 years RN experience
  • MN Registered Nurse (RN) License
  • Incident Command System (ICS) Series 100, 200 and 700 within 1 Year
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (American Heart Assoc)
  • Basic Life Support (American Heart Assoc or Red Cross)
  • BCS

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Arts in Nursing
  • 2 years management/leadership experience
  • Certification in nursing specialty
