Job description

Fairview is seeking an Ob/Gyn physician to join the multi-specialty practice at M Health Fairview Clinic - Burnsville.

The Obstetrician and Gynecologist will participate in the provision of high quality medical and health care, interacting with professional colleagues to provide comprehensive care and service. Provides healthcare and treatment of patients within the scope of the OB/GYN practice as defined by one's training and/or Board Certification. Models behaviors consistent with group practice and Fairview values

Practice Details:

  • Join a team of 8 physicians

  • Surgical cases and deliveries performed at: Fairview Ridges Hospital. Hospital does have a robot for surgical cases and the group has 4 physicians who perform robotic surgery. Option to perform surgical cases at Ambulatory Surgery Center attached to the hospital.

  • Admitting Hospital: Fairview Ridges Hospital

  • There will be an expectation that physicians will see clinic patients at the Burnsville Clinic and one additional Fairview community clinic nearby.

  • Average of 80 deliveries annually per physician.

  • Average of 20-24 patients per day in clinic

  • Opening: 1.0 FTE

  • Schedule details: 3-4 day clinical work week - includes clinic, surgery, and on-call time

  • Call Frequency: An average of 4 days of call /month, with 24 hour in-house support for emergencies.

  • Established referral base of Fairview employed primary care and sub specialty physician.

Responsibilities

  • Provides general patient care involving subjective and objective evaluation, assessment and formulation of a plan of care.

  • Prescribes or administers treatment as determined by the plan of care.

  • Orders and interprets diagnostic tests to identify and assess patients' clinical problems and health care needs

  • Consults with and make appropriate referral(s) to other health care providers in abnormal or unusual cases. Refers within the Fairview network.

  • Maintains the electronic medical record in accordance with Fairview standards and in accordance with licensure and scope.

  • Recognizes and appropriately responds to medical emergencies.

  • Serves as a patient advocate by maintaining patient confidentiality, protecting patient rights, communicating in a timely manner and resolving concerns or complaints regarding care and service.

  • Assists in the development of new policies, programs, procedures or techniques.

  • Participates in research, educational or other special projects or programs as needed.

  • Dedicates majority of time to providing quality patient care and service. Participates equitably in responsibilities of patient care in designated department.

  • May provide work direction to medical support and nursing staff in designated work unit.

  • Actively participates in multidisciplinary team approach to case management

  • Utilizes quality improvement tools to develop processes that promote continuous improvement in delivery of patient care, patient outcomes or workflows

  • Demonstrates knowledge of age-related growth and development principles necessary to provide appropriate service and assure safety of patients

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited ACGME/AOA Obstetrics and Gynecology residency training program

  • Board Certified/Board Eligible with the ABMS

  • Licensed or ability to obtain Minnesota Board of Medical Practice Licensure

  • Ability to obtain and/or maintain DEA certification for the State of Minnesota

  • Meet threshold criteria/qualification for Credentialing and Privileges

Compensation Information:
$359820.00 / Annually - $399800.00 / Annually
