Your Responsibilities
As a PDP Engineer for John Deere Engine Works located in Waterloo, IA, you will:
  • Lead and support assembly departments in implementing new engine programs.
  • Develop manufacturing processes, line designs, capital projects, and program management activities.
  • Establish Sequence of Events (SOE), manufacturing methods, layouts, and tooling.
  • Lead capital investment projects for assembly.
  • Implement mistake-proofing in assembly processes.
  • Support EPDP activities.
  • Participate in DPAR reviews and PFMEA activities.
  • Support change management within Engine Works Assembly.
  • Create and maintain SAP routings and bills of material.
  • Work with operations teams to resolve process issues.
  • Create visual aids.
  • Specify and purchase assembly equipment such as torque tools, fixtures, manipulators, and hand tools.
  • Maintain and interact with factory automation systems.

What Skills You Need
  • 2+ years of Lean Manufacturing experience.
  • 2+ years of DC electric torque tool experience.
  • 2+ years of SAP experience.
  • 2+ years of Manufacturing Execution Systems experience.
  • 2+ years using quality tools such as PFMEA, Root Cause Analysis, and Statistics.
