Job description

The Industrial Project Engineer would be a part of the TRUMPF software integration group that focuses on Industry 4.0 software solutions for the next generation Smart Factory. The group is responsible to detail, implement and fully support Oseon as part of larger industrial automation projects as well as implementing production processes to track downstream operations. Oseon is TRUMPF's solution for production management and material flow control. Some understanding with Windows Server operating systems, knowledge of system networking, and familiarity with client-server software.
Responsibilities
  • Install, configure, and integrate TRUMPF's Oseon system & TruTops Boost programming systems.
  • Implement new systems. Travel to customer sites as scheduled by the automation Project Manager. Work as a team with Automation Service and Applications teams onsite during the implementation/service phases. Integrate the software for next generation Smart Factory automation systems.
  • Plan with the customer. Assess process value chain and adapt sold TRUMPF software solutions to customer needs.
  • Configure customer machinery to establish connectivity and exchange data.
  • Service existing systems. Perform periodic upgrades and re-configure machinery.
  • Take cases from the SIS case queue. Support existing customers with troubleshooting issues over phone, email, and onsite.
  • Provide local support for the TRUMPF Smart Factories in Chicago, IL area as well as in Farmington, CT.
  • Up to 50% travel in United States, Canada, and Mexico.

Experience
  • 1-2 years experience in an Industrial Engineering, Software Systems, or Systems Integration environment.
  • Some understanding of MS SQL Server, Windows Server operating systems, knowledge of system networking, and familiarity with client-server software.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.
  • Experience with CAD/CAM programming software for machine tools is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of sheet metal manufacturing value stream and CNC machine technology highly desirable
  • Understanding of ERP/MRP systems, as well as the integration process with the aforementioned software solutions is highly desirable.

Education
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Industrial Engineering, Information Systems, Systems Engineering, Computer Science or related field.

Hourly Pay Range: $34.00 - $41.56(Level 1)
