Job description

Loma Linda University Health, Division of Transplant/Cell Therapy (TCT) is looking to recruit for faculty positions at open rank (Assistant/Associate/Professor) as Physician-Scientists, including leadership opportunities to join our team.

We are seeking energetic faculty Physician-Scientists who desire to develop an academic, laboratory translational research program, in close collaboration with established basic, translational, and clinical scientists at Loma Linda University.

Successful candidates will have a primarily research laboratory assignment with dedicated laboratory space and a generous start up package, but will also be expected to develop, conduct, and participate in translating laboratory research into clinical applications, other collaborative research in blood and marrow transplantation, and cellular immunotherapy.

Loma Linda University Medical Center and Children Hospital are active sites for multiple solid organ transplants with multiple collaborative opportunities in transplant immunology and regenerative medicine in adults and children.

Loma Linda University has a strong collaborative, mentoring and supportive environment especially for graduating fellows and junior faculty applicants.

Teaching responsibilities would involve oversight of graduate students, research and clinical fellows, residents, and mid-level providers during laboratory, ambulatory, and inpatient activities.

The TCT/Hem Malignancies Division is focused on the development and implementation of novel cell-based and immune therapies (including CAR-T, NK, vaccine, and gene therapies; and cell and vector engineering), transplant immunology, as well as autologous and allogeneic hematopoietic stem-cell transplantation. Additional, specific hematological disease focus is optional and is based on candidate preference. This work is supported by core facilities, laboratory research space, the Cancer Center Clinical Trials Unit, a new cGMP and TCT laboratory, fully characterized tumor samples repository, and a new state-of-the-art Medical Center and a Children Hospital buildings opened in 2021, all on the Medical School campus. TCT program at Loma Linda University heath is a fully FACT accredited program in adult autologous and allogeneic BMT and immune effector cell therapy providing various FDA approved and experimental CAR-T, other immune effector cells and gene therapy.

Loma Linda University was established in 1905 and Loma Linda University Medical Center and Children’s Hospital are the major and only Academic Medical Centers in the Inland Empire in Southern California that provide Transplant and Cell therapy.

Qualification requirements include MD (or foreign equivalent), completion of fellowships in Medical Oncology and/or Hematology, TCT fellowship (or equivalent experience) preferred, and Internal Medicine, Hematology, or Medical Oncology board eligible or certified; or completion of fellowships in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology or Immunology, TCT fellowship (or equivalent experience), and Pediatrics, Pediatric Hematology/Oncology, or Immunology board eligible or certified.

Comprehensive salary, benefits, and a competitive package will be provided, and academic appointment will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. Administrative and research support including staff, resources and infrastructure will be provided.

The campus is located within driving distance from Los Angeles, beach cities and San Diego

Compensation & Benefits

The compensation range listed is for starting base compensation only and is adjusted based upon years of experience and/or faculty rank: $150,000 – $400,000. This amount does not include variable compensation or extra productivity and is subject to the individual department compensation plans. More information on compensation is discussed with the departments during the recruitment process.
