Job description

Job Summary:
The Facilities and Safety Manager oversees facility operations, workplace safety, maintenance programs, and regulatory compliance across multiple logistics and third-party logistics (3PL) locations. This role ensures safe, efficient, and compliant operations while supporting warehouse, distribution, transportation, and operational teams in accordance with OSHA, DOT, environmental, and company standards.
Essential Duties:
• Manage facility operations and maintenance across multiple warehouse and logistics sites.
• Develop, implement, and enforce safety policies, procedures, and training programs for warehouse and transportation operations.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, fire safety, environmental, and local regulatory requirements.
• Conduct routine safety audits, facility inspections, and risk assessments at all locations.
• Investigate workplace accidents, incidents, near misses, and workers' compensation claims; implement corrective actions.
• Oversee emergency preparedness plans, evacuation procedures, and incident response protocols.
• Coordinate preventive maintenance and repairs for warehouse equipment, building systems, docks, racking, forklifts, and material handling equipment.
• Manage vendor relationships, contractor services, and facility-related projects.
• Monitor safety metrics, incident trends, and compliance reporting; prepare management reports and recommendations.
• Lead safety committee meetings and promote a strong safety culture throughout all facilities.
• Ensure proper documentation and reporting of accidents, inspections, training, and compliance activities.
• Support operational efficiency initiatives related to facility layout, storage utilization, and workflow improvements.
• Conduct employee safety training, including forklift safety, lockout/tagout, hazard communication, PPE, and emergency response.
• Assist with business continuity planning and disaster recovery efforts.
• Travel regularly between multiple sites to ensure operational and safety consistency - Must maintain a valid driver's license, proof of insurance, and maintain a clean motor vehicle report at all times throughout employment
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Facilities Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in facilities, safety, warehouse, logistics, or 3PL operations management.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, warehouse safety standards, and multi-site facility management.
• Experience in distribution centers, transportation, manufacturing, or 3PL environments preferred.
• Knowledge of material handling equipment, warehouse operations, and facility systems.
• Strong leadership, organizational, investigative, and problem-solving skills.• Excellent communication and training abilities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and safety/compliance management systems.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and locations simultaneously.
• OSHA 30 Certification• Forklift Trainer Certification• CPR/First Aid Certification
• Certified Safety Professional (CSP) designation strongly preferred
