Facility Supervisor Ice Arena

Suburban Sports Group

Farmington Hills, MI

Part-time

Posted 4 days ago

Job description

Love sports, working with people, and being part of the action? We are looking for a hands-on Facility Supervisor to help keep our ice arena running smoothly and make sure every guest has a great experience.

You will help lead the team, oversee daily operations, support programs and events, and jump in wherever needed. No two days at the rink are exactly the same!

What You’ll Do

  • Help oversee daily arena operations, including programming, rentals, and special events
  • Lead, schedule, train, and support part-time and seasonal staff
  • Keep an eye on ice quality, facility cleanliness, safety, and overall readiness
  • Deliver great customer service and help resolve issues when they arise
  • Coordinate with coaches, leagues, organizations, and community partners
  • Assist with cash handling, POS procedures, inventory, payroll tracking, and other day-to-day administrative needs
  • Help make tournaments, events, and seasonal programs a success

What We’re Looking For

  • A friendly, professional, and dependable team player
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
  • Experience in recreation, sports, hospitality, or facility operations - ice arena experience is a big plus
  • Someone who can stay cool when things get busy (pun intended!)
  • Comfortable using computers, phones, and basic office/POS systems
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Hockey knowledge is a plus, and competitive hockey experience is even better

Why You’ll Want to Join Our Team

Sure, getting paid to drive a Zamboni is already pretty cool but there’s more!

  • Great People: Join a collaborative, supportive team where everyone pitches in.
  • Learn & Grow: Build your skills, learn new equipment and systems, and take on new responsibilities.
  • Be Part of the Action: Hockey games, figure skating, tournaments, public skating, special events, you’ll be right in the middle of it all.
  • Be a Key Player: As a full-time team member, you’ll play an important role in the day-to-day success of our facility.
  • Work-Life Balance: We value flexibility and work to create schedules that support both our operation and our team.
  • And Most Importantly… We’re FUN! We work hard, help each other out, and have a good time doing it.

Sound Like You?

If you’re energetic, enjoy leading a team, and would rather spend your workday at the rink than behind a desk, we’d love to hear from you. Apply today and join our team!
