Job description

The Facilities Operations Manager oversees all plant operations, including Drivers, Dispatch, Yard teams, Fleet management, inventory control, and customer service. This role is responsible for maintaining a safe, efficient, and compliant operation while driving productivity, profitability, and service excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead plant operations with a strong focus on safety, training, and operational consistency.
  • Manage Driver, Dispatch, Yard, Fleet, and inventory functions.
  • Hire, train, and develop employees while maintaining appropriate staffing levels.
  • Conduct regular driver safety meetings and oversee performance management.
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction in partnership with Sales.
  • Investigate incidents, accidents, complaints, and operational issues, implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Oversee fleet maintenance, certifications, audits, and regulatory compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable environmental, transportation, and safety regulations (SPCC, SWPPP, SCAQMD, DPQA, etc.).
  • Monitor inventory levels to maintain product availability and operational efficiency.
  • Identify process improvements and cost-saving opportunities.

Requirements

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Operations, Business, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of plant operations, logistics, transportation, or related leadership experience.
  • Strong leadership, team-building, and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of fuel and lubricant transportation regulations.
  • Experience managing fleet operations and inventory.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
