Pay Scale/Salary Class/Days: Administrative Pay Scale / Grade 37 / 240 Days / 8 Hours Per Day
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, civil engineering, construction management, construction management, facilities management, or a related field. Master's degree preferred. Five years of experience in facility operations or management, including experience in an administrative or supervisory role. Valid and current Professional Engineer (PE) designation is preferred. Must possess knowledge of construction methods, planning and scheduling, cost accounting and computer programs, supervisory practices and principles, purchasing and contracting policies and practices, and have the ability to effectively communicate with supervisors, peers, and subordinates. May require a valid state driver's license.
Description:
This position manages all construction and ongoing maintenance of facilities for the District. Prepares and monitors the departmental budget by projecting needs and monitoring expenditures, determining staffing needs, overseeing payroll for maintenance staff and allocating funds for department operational expenses. Establishes policies and procedures for ongoing review of repair programs and coordinating scheduling of repairs to facilities; manages purchasing and general contracting functions for District facilities. Assists district staff and school principals in reviewing facilities regarding existing and potential problems. This position is under limited supervision.
