Job Summary
The Facility Manager is responsible for the overall performance, operational excellence, and client satisfaction across a multi-site region. This role combines leadership with facilities management, including vendor management, emergency response, financial oversight, customer/team development, and facility operations. This includes achieving/exceeding customer satisfaction, maintaining and improving morale, retention, and productivity.
The position focuses on strengthening client relationships, optimizing processes, and ensuring high-quality service delivery while maintaining alignment with organizational goals and performance metrics.
The Facility Manager develops long-term relationships with the customer to support the growth of the business and focuses on process improvement and development of technician skillsets to expand service of the EMCOR Facilities Services (EFS). This position will support client strategy and be accountable for implementation. If you are enthusiastic about relationship-building, problem-solving, and driving results, we want to hear from you!
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Oversee day-to-day operations within an assigned region and build trust with customers (Site Directors, Operations Managers and Senior Leadership) through initiative-taking communications, transparency, and operational updates.
  • Drive accountability for key performance indicators such as work order completion, service quality, and process adherence ensuring alignment with client overall objectives and performance measurements.
  • Ensure achievement of financial targets, including budget awareness, invoice review, cost control measures and budget awareness.
  • Supervise a team of 5-10 skilled technicians and create an environment in which employees are successful and operate in the Company's Safety Culture.
    • Oversee the trades - handyman, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, janitorial, floorcare, landscaping and snow removal (where applicable)
    • Provides staff development, coaching, and feedback.
    • Provides regular performance feedback along with annual goals.
    • Develop subordinates' skills, encourage growth, and take responsibility for their team's performance.
    • Serve as the primary escalation point for operational issues and ensure timely resolution.
  • Manage 40-50 buildings across the region in concert with customer expectations and standards.
    • Subject Matter Expert in facility operations; to include quote validation, internal tech and vendor follow-up, asset condition evaluation and manage emergency response.
    • Conduct site visits/inspections across region, gather and analyze data, document findings, and ensure asset inventory accuracy.
    • Manage preventive maintenance (PM) programs and capital planning forecast planning.
  • Lead the company's specific management strategy for their assigned region.
  • Lead team to effectively deliver EFS's range of services, ensure process adherence, and take responsibility for their team's performance.
  • Solicits and applies feedback (internal and external).
  • Continually works to improve Leadership skills.
  • Be available for off-hours, weekends, and project-related communication.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or related experience
  • 5+years of supervisory experience preferred.
  • Experience with operations and maintenance for multi-site commercial properties.
  • Ability to identify best practices within industry and the ability to apply across multi-site/account scope. Facility Management, IFM experience preferred.
  • Must be willing to travel and participate in after-hours/on call support.
  • Able to utilize a PC and/or tablet to access and analyze data in company systems.
  • Ability to travel 40% depending on location; 3-5 nights per month overnight travel
