Job description

Job Summary and Qualifications

Responsible for assisting the Engineering Manager in planning, scheduling and supervising maintenance and repair personnel assigned to the department. (Maintenance Mechanics, Electrician, HVAC/Refrigeration Technicians, Painters, Etc). Performs the duties of the engineering supervisor in his/her absence

  • Assists the engineering supervisor in supervising the engineering departmentโ€™s electricians, maintenance mechanics and HVAC techs.
  • Assumes the duties of the engineering supervisor in his/her absence.
  • Teaches and explains the operation and function of the Hospital systems. Air conditioning, Heating, Vacuum systems, Plumbing systems, Emergency Power system, and Fire alarm system.
  • Instructs on component adjustments, calibration and troubleshooting of the above systems.
  • Installs repairs and performs preventive maintenance on various items of plant equipment in accordance with diagrams, operating manuals, maintenance schedules and manufacturer specifications using hand and power tools and precision measuring and testing instruments.
  • Operates, test and maintains diesel engine units used for emergency power and related storage tanks and transfer pumps.
  • Maintains and repairs air handlers, exhaust fans, supply fans, patient beds, steam generators/boilers, heating boilers and oxygen, vacuum and pneumatic tube systems.
  • Repairs, operates and maintains hot water heating water systems to boilers, transfer pumps, heating coils, piping and related controls.

Requirements


Experience

Graduation Associate degree or equivalent trade school certificate.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:

Licensed through the State of Texas in Air Conditioning, Heating, Electrical, or HVAC/Refrigeration.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED OR PREFERRED:

ยท At least five years experience in general maintenance and repair with at least 1 year in an administrative position.
