Mechanical Engineer Intern - Mission Critical

Job: Mechanical Engineering Intern - Mission Critical

GBA, a professional, full service architectural and engineering firm is seeking a student to join their team as a Mechanical/Electrical intern in our Mission Critical group in our Lenexa, Kansas office. This group specializes in the Mission Critical industry and serves many of the top Information Technology companies as an integrated team of architects, engineers, commissioning specialists, and project managers.

Summer interns will work alongside engineers and architects on the design of mechanical/electrical systems for data centers, telecommunications, and industrial facilities under the direction of GBA's senior staff. GBA offers the opportunity to work on a large variety of project types from start to finish, in a collaborative team environment.

What You'll Do:
  • Preparing construction documents for various electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Review of shop drawings and RFIโ€™s
  • Verification of permitting and code requirements
  • Facility evaluations and engineering studies
  • Trouble shooting and commissioning
  • Other duties as assigned
What You'll Bring:
  • Pursuing BS in Architectural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software โ€“ Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Must have completed at least 2 years of their education
  • Must have a working knowledge of AutoCAD
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written
  • Interest working in a collaborative team environment
  • Previous internships are a plus
