Job description

Fabricator (3rd Shift)

Job Overview:


A Fabricator I for Bastian Automation will be responsible for general saw cutting and fabrication for material equipment projects.The main emphasis for this position is saw cutting and layout work, other duties to include assembly andpaint prep of projects as well as general repair and maintenance of Bastian Automation shop equipment.A Fabricator will be responsible for maintaining tolerances and dimensions specified by an individual print.A Fabricator I will typically have 1-2 years of experience in the fabrication field.
Shift:

  • 3rd shift

Job Functions:

With guidance build high quality fabricated parts from blueprints with low rejection rate

With guidance work from sketches/drawings to produce parts from sheet metal, plate and bar stock

Keep work space in a neat and organized order

Show mutual respect for coworkers

Show up to work every day on time

Maintain a positive attitude

Overtime required when necessary

Follow safety protocols per JSA (Job Safety Analysis)

Travel Requirements:

  • No travel for this position

Required Qualifications and Preferred Skills:

Relevant fabrication shop experience preferred

Positive attitude, able to handle tense situations that arise

Team player, able to take direction

General knowledge of fabrication equipment including horizontal saws, lathes, mills, & drill presses

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds consistently.
