Job description

Fabricator (3rd Shift)
Job Overview:
A Fabricator I for Bastian Automation will be responsible for general saw cutting and fabrication for material equipment projects. The main emphasis for this position is saw cutting and layout work, other duties to include assembly and paint prep of projects as well as general repair and maintenance of Bastian Automation shop equipment. A Fabricator will be responsible for maintaining tolerances and dimensions specified by an individual print. A Fabricator I will typically have 1-2 years of experience in the fabrication field.
Shift:
  • 3rd shift

Job Functions:
• With guidance build high quality fabricated parts from blueprints with low rejection rate
• With guidance work from sketches/drawings to produce parts from sheet metal, plate and bar stock
• Keep work space in a neat and organized order
• Show mutual respect for coworkers
• Show up to work every day on time
• Maintain a positive attitude
• Overtime required when necessary
• Follow safety protocols per JSA (Job Safety Analysis)
Travel Requirements:
  • No travel for this position

Required Qualifications and Preferred Skills:
• Relevant fabrication shop experience preferred
• Positive attitude, able to handle tense situations that arise
• Team player, able to take direction
• General knowledge of fabrication equipment including horizontal saws, lathes, mills, & drill presses
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds consistently.
