Metal Fabricator Helper

Job Overview

We are seeking a Metal Fabricator Helper to support our welding and fabrication team by preparing, cutting, shaping, and finishing metal components used in production and assembly. This is a hands-on role ideal for individuals with fabrication experience, strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work from blueprints and technical drawings. You will operate various fabrication equipment while helping ensure parts are produced accurately, efficiently, and safely.


Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare metal components for welding and fabrication according to specifications.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and technical drawings.
  • Cut, bend, shape, and finish metal materials using shop equipment and hand tools.
  • Deburr, grind, sand, and clean fabricated parts to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Kit materials according to Bills of Materials (BOMs) for production jobs.
  • Operate fabrication equipment including:
    • Burn tables
    • Saws
    • Shears
    • Press brakes
    • Rollers
  • Measure and verify dimensions to ensure part accuracy and quality.
  • Safely operate cranes and hoisting equipment to move materials and finished components.
  • Follow all safety procedures, machine operating guidelines, and company quality standards.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and productive work area.
  • Assist welders and fabricators with general shop and production activities as needed.

Required Qualifications
  • Previous experience in metal fabrication, manufacturing, or a related industrial environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and measurements.
  • Experience operating fabrication equipment and hand tools.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work with precision and maintain attention to detail.
  • Understanding of safe shop practices and equipment operation.
