Job description

FCAW Pressure Vessel Fabrication Welder

Reports to: Director of Operations

Is this you?
  • Do you excel at Flux-Cored welding and back-gouging for code work?
  • Are you confident working to customer specs and ASME Section VIII, Division 1 standards?
  • Do you keep immaculate records and documentation while staying on schedule with minimal oversight?
What you'll do
  • Produce welds that meet customer specifications, applicable codes, and industry standards
  • Perform FCAW with a strong emphasis on back-gouging quality
  • Follow all safety regulations and work efficiently
  • Accurately log labor hours
  • Clean each work section for inspection approval
  • Maintain company tools and equipment in good condition
  • Coordinate daily with the Plant Foreman and Assigned Fitter
  • Partner with the Internal Quality Control Manager; interface with customer site inspectors and the Authorized Inspector
  • Work independently with limited supervision; hit deadlines without defects
  • Submit all required project paperwork and documentation on time

  • Pass Masonโ€™s weld test to demonstrate capability
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required production weld certifications
  • 3+ years of pressure vessel fabrication experience (preferred)
  • Familiarity with ASME BPVC Section VIII, Division 1 (preferred)
  • Proven blueprint reading and interpretation
  • Reliable team player with strong punctuality
