Job description

We are seeking a reliable, hardworking Metal Fabrication & Powder Coating Shop Helper to join our growing production team. This position plays a key role in supporting metal prep, fabrication, powder coating, and overall shop operations. No previous fabrication or coating experience is required—just a strong work ethic, willingness to learn, basic knowledge of hand tools and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

Metal Preparation & Fabrication Support

  • Assist with sanding, grinding, cleaning, and prepping metal parts
  • Help move and organize raw materials and finished products
  • Support welders and fabricators with tasks as needed

Powder Coating Assistance

  • Hang, rack, and mask parts for coating
  • Assist in preparing parts for the spray booth
  • Help load and unload curing ovens

General Shop Duties

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop environment
  • Sweep, clean tools, organize supplies, and empty waste materials
  • Assist with loading/unloading customer orders or deliveries

Quality & Safety

  • Inspect parts for defects or coating imperfections
  • Follow all safety guidelines and use provided PPE
  • Report issues or equipment concerns to supervisors

Qualifications

  • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods
  • Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, industrial environment
