What You'll Do
As a Fabrication Production Supervisor, you'll lead daily fabrication operations during your assigned shift, ensuring production schedules are executed safely, efficiently, and on time. You'll coordinate manpower, workflow sequencing, welding activities, and production priorities while supporting workforce development and maintaining accountability for quality and safety standards.


In this role, you will:

  • Execute daily fabrication production schedules and ensure jobs progress according to priority and delivery requirements
  • Coordinate fabrication sequencing, weld flow, material staging, and manpower allocation across assigned production areas
  • Supervise welders, fitters, fabrication technicians, and working leads during assigned shift operations
  • Enforce compliance with approved welding procedures, fabrication standards, weld sequencing requirements, and quality expectations
  • Enforce all safety procedures, PPE requirements, hot work controls, crane safety practices, and housekeeping standards
  • Maintain communication regarding production performance, operational priorities, and schedule adherence
  • Ensure workforce accountability, attendance management, and daily labor coordination
  • Monitor workflow to maintain schedule adherence, labor efficiency, and production throughput
  • Adjust staffing assignments and work priorities to address bottlenecks and production interruptions
  • Coordinate with Planning, Engineering, Quality, and Maintenance teams to resolve production constraints
  • Verify welders are operating within qualification requirements and approved production methods
  • Monitor weld quality, defect trends, and fabrication workmanship standards
  • Conduct routine safety observations and address unsafe conditions immediately
  • Provide coaching, feedback, and performance direction to production personnel
  • Support employee onboarding, skills progression, and technical training initiatives
  • Coordinate containment activities and corrective actions for fabrication and weld quality issues
  • Lead shift pass-down communication and daily production reporting
  • Support incident investigations and corrective action implementation
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and workflow optimization activities

Requirements

What We're Looking For
We're seeking a hands-on manufacturing leader with fabrication and welding experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to drive workforce performance in an industrial production environment.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum three (3) years of fabrication, welding, or manufacturing leadership experience
  • Experience supervising welders, fitters, or fabrication teams
  • Knowledge of industrial manufacturing workflows and production operations
  • Strong understanding of fabrication shop operations, welding processes, and production workflow systems
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and workforce management skills
  • Strong troubleshooting and operational decision-making abilities
  • Effective communication, conflict resolution, and organizational skills
  • Ability to coordinate multiple production activities simultaneously

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or technical certification in Welding, Manufacturing, Fabrication, or a related field
  • Experience in structural steel fabrication or industrial manufacturing environments
  • Experience with AWS welding standards, weld symbols, fabrication drawings, and weld sequencing
  • Experience supporting workforce coaching, training, and accountability initiatives
  • Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered

Your Work Schedule

 The schedule for this position will be a rotating 12-hour shift schedule consisting of two crews. This will include 2 separate day shift schedules, with a rotation of three 12-hour shifts one week and four 12-hour shifts the following week.  Mechanical Assembly Production Supervisors should be prepared to be assigned to either of the two shifts.
