Job Description

Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) – The SQE will report to the Supplier Quality Manager as part of the Quality Organization. This position will be responsible for the design, development and implementation of standards, methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy of company products in compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements. Performs analysis on reported nonconformities and discrepancies related to assembly, process, mechanical, electrical, electro‑mechanical systems, field and clinical data. Further investigates the cause for discrepancies and nonconformities to develop disposition and recommends corrective action plans with suppliers. Leads material review board and Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis (PFMEA) activities. Interfaces with Suppliers, Manufacturing, Engineering, the Customer, Procurement and Subcontractor representatives to ensure requirements are met. Conducts Cost of Poor Quality analysis and manages supplier corrective actions. Serves as the primary interface to Procurement, Suppliers, and other functional departments for Supplier Quality related matters.

Essential Functions
  • Monitoring performance of assigned Suppliers and facilitating corrective and preventative actions to accomplish improvements
  • Identifying critical Suppliers and establish/manage action plans for monitoring Supplier performance
  • Supplier Root Cause and Corrective Action
  • Performing Source inspection both at the supplier and on site for incoming material
  • First Article Inspection review and acceptance
  • Execution of Military and/or FAA Certification efforts
  • Travel will be required up to 50%
Qualifications

Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.

  • Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Science or other Technical Field with at least ten (6) years Aerospace Quality experience (Equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered).
Preferred Additional Skills
  • Manufacturing inspection experience
  • Experience with Military and FAA Certification efforts is preferred.
  • FAA and Quality authorizations and/or certifications are preferred.
  • AS9100 experience
