The Gogo FAA Certification Engineer is responsible for all aspects of the certification process. You will coordinate FAA activities for multiple products and installations on aircraft. You will also ensure compliance with applicable FAA regulations and provide guidance to team members throughout the project.

How will you make a difference?
  • Learn and coordinate all aspects of the STC certification process with internal stakeholders, the FAA, ODAs, DERs, and/or UMs
  • Support the FAA certification processes: authoring or reviewing plan submissions, conformity inspections, ground/flight tests, reports, etc.
  • Maintain and update existing STCs through the processing of Minor Changes
  • Support DO-160G and coordinate DO-178C Software and DO-254 Airborne Electronic Hardware efforts. Review hardware and software technical documentation and author certification documentation in accordance with applicable regulations and standards.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify FAA certification regulations and requirements and determine methods of compliance.
  • Support the revision and updating of existing processes and procedures

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience required
  • 0-2 years' experience with FAA regulations, procedures and the STC process

  • Ability to work effectively and productively with team members and cross functional teams
  • Willingness to adapt to changing priorities; have a positive attitude towards change in a fast-moving environment
  • Ability to write and review technical documents
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred skills, Experience, and Talents
  • 1-2 years of Engineering related experience and/or experience with FAA regulations, procedures and the STC process
  • Aircraft design or maintenance experience
  • Exposure to leading or managing projects (systems, software, or hardware)
  • Familiarity with DO-160, DO-178C, and DO-254
