Job description

About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking an F1 Incident Commander in technology as part of Commercial and Corporate & Investment Banking Technology (CCIBT). In this role you would be responsible for frontline (F1) engagement in technology incidents and events impacting CCIBT, helping to ensure rapid detection, effective coordination, clear communications, and disciplined execution during incidents, major events, and highrisk operational activities.

In this role, you will:

  • Actively engage with Major Incidents assisting with triage, stakeholder communications, and recovery activities, while ensuring highquality handoff to Problem Management

  • Help drive timely engagement of platform, infrastructure, and application teams to restore service

  • Ensure incidents are accurately logged, updated, and transitioned across shifts using defined handover processes and tooling

  • Help coordinate Major Incidents and planned/unplanned technology events (e.g., BCP exercises, data center activities, market events)

  • Support or lead war rooms / command bridges, ensuring disciplined execution, clear roles, and structured updates

  • Track milestones, risks, and application readiness during events, ensuring issues are raised and managed via standard incident processes.

  • Maintain accurate event status tracking and ensure final outcomes and issues are formally documented

  • Deliver clear, concise, and timely communications to stakeholders, senior leadership, and executive audiences during incidents and events.

  • Produce and distribute incident notifications, updates, and summaries via approved channels (email, Teams, leadership chats)

  • Identify opportunities to improve incident detection, response efficiency, automation, and tooling

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of Systems Engineering, Technology Architecture experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

  • 5+ years of experience in IT Incident and Event Management within an enterprise environment

  • 5+ years of experience with ITIL Incident, Problem, and Change Management practices

  • 5+ years of experience with ServiceNow or equivalent ITSM platforms

Desired Qualifications:

  • Proven ability to operate calmly and decisively in highpressure, highvisibility situations

  • Excellent stakeholder communication skills, including executivelevel updates

  • Experience supporting Major Events, BCP/DR exercises, or marketcritical activities

  • Familiarity with followthesun operational models

  • Exposure to Reliability Engineering, SLOs, or automationfirst operations

  • Experience within banking, financial services, or regulated technology environments
