We are committed to providing best-in-class patient care, pioneering research and technology, and most importantly, rewarding and recognizing our employees!OverviewAs the Premium Surgery Counselor Team Lead, you'll be responsible for assisting the patient with all aspects of the surgery process and pre-operative preparations in order to make the surgical experience as smooth as possible for the patient. You'll develop the team and make sure they are successful by maintaining the Advanced Technology conversion rates and provide daily updates to the Premium Services Manager. As a Premium Services Counselor Team Lead you will be eligible to participate in the inventive plan.Responsibilities
  • Educates and counsels patients regarding their surgical options, including premium product offerings
  • Schedules surgeries, makes all surgical appointments, verifies insurance and prepares charts for surgery
  • Monitors surgery points daily for ASC location; making sure there are no overages in points
  • Attends all surgery huddle meetings, relays information to Premium Services Manager
  • Monitors surgery tasks daily and reports to ensure all patients are accurately scheduled
  • Reviews ATL scorecards and conversions, works with teammates falling below 30%
  • Mentors, coaches, and develops team members
  • Researches missing EDU and ensures the team is accounting for all missing EDU
  • Presents team with reports on all pending or deleted surgery tasks
  • Reviews teams EDU presentation and eye model to ensure each patient is receiving highest quality of care and information
  • Acts as a resource for management and leads to answer questions on process or policy
  • Develops and maintains relationships with ASC and Clinic Managers, communicating any issues to the Premium Services Manager
  • Works closely with the Premium Services Manager to identify training needs for team members
  • Assists in the training processes and ongoing development of the Premium Services team
  • Coaches, mentors, and develops the team
  • Performs additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of one-year of medical office experience, management or leadership experience preferred
  • At least one-year experience working in Ophthalmology 
  • 3+ months experience working in a Patient Care Counselor role
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to lead a team by demonstrating a positive attitude, openness to change, willingness to help, and respect for others and their ideas
  • Detail oriented, reliable and able to multi-task in a fast-paced, high-volume work environment
  • Ability to make decisions within established protocols and with minimal supervision
  • Strong computer skills
  • Flexible schedule working Monday through Friday
