Job description

Part Time Optician Wanted! (Must have previous general optician experience)

Eyes of North Scottsdale is a newer private practice with an emphasis on creating a culture where our patients come first, and the expectations and in office experience of the patients we serve are exceeded! Opticians will be responsible for the selling, fitting, and dispensing glasses, as well as checking in glasses and processing glasses and contact lens material claims to patient's insurances. As a smaller office, all staff members are expected to be team players and carry out general office tasks such as answering phones, patient scheduling, insurance verification, and other tasks that arise on a day-to-day basis, all while providing a great interpersonal experience for our patients. We are looking for a candidate that has experience in the field, has the passion to grow individually within the practice, has motivation to continuing to learn about new technology, has exceptional verbal and written communication skills, has the ability to multitask, is precise and is attentive to small details, and most of all, have the passion to be instrumental in helping to continue to grow our practice.

Candidate requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • At least 3 years of experience in the optical field (ABO certified is a plus)

  • Familiarity working with many vision plans including Eyemed, VSP, Spectera, etc.

  • Great interpersonal and customer service skills

  • The availability to work part time, about 28-30 hours per week, including half day Saturdays.

  • The passion to assist in other tasks that aid in office efficiency and growth of the practice

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ability to sell premium quality glasses and contact lenses in a high end boutique setting

  • Skilled in fitting, adjustment, and dispensing glasses

  • To be familiar with our optical inventory and products to provide the most appropriate selections for the patient

  • Edge lenses with in-house optical equipment

  • Perform lensometry on glasses to ensure proper prescription and verification of lens measurements

  • Answer phones to schedule patients and answer general questions

  • Verify insurances and interpret benefits from a large variety of medical and vision plans

  • Have the willingness and flexibility to learn and adapt in a variety of situations

  • Must have the desire and investment in the practice to help with promotion and growth
