An Eye Clinic job typically involves working in a healthcare setting that specializes in eye care, such as an optometry or ophthalmology clinic. Responsibilities may include assisting eye doctors, scheduling appointments, conducting vision tests, managing patient records, and educating patients on eye health. Depending on the role, employees may require specific certifications or training in optometry or medical assistance.

What does a typical day look like for staff working in an eye clinic?

A typical day in an Eye Clinic involves greeting and preparing patients for examinations, performing vision tests and diagnostic procedures, assisting eye care providers during patient consultations, and managing patient records. You may also help educate patients on eye health, schedule follow-up appointments, and coordinate with other healthcare professionals if additional care is needed. The environment is generally busy and team-oriented, requiring collaboration among technicians, clinicians, and administrative staff to provide seamless patient care. This variety makes every day interesting while offering valuable experience in eye health and patient services.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the eye clinic position, and why are they important?

  • Diagnose ocular conditions and assist in treatment of ocular disease.
  • Prescribe corrective lenses and/or eye medications as appropriate.
  • Explain eye health, eyewear and prescription terminology to patients.
  • Facilitate outstanding patient services during all interactions.

  • Teamwork: You cultivate a positive team environment by respecting and supporting others and striving to enhance team performance.
  • Ambitious: You're a doctor who wants to challenge yourself to practice optometry to the fullest extent of your ability.

Why You'll Love This Opportunity: This is an ideal opportunity for a high-earning optometrist to practice optometry without the worry of managing the practice. The administrative and staffing responsibilities of practice management are handled by the management team of this family-owned practice, so you can focus on providing to-quality primary and medical eye care. We reward our optometrists with:

  • A Generous Guaranteed Salary of $75 - $85 per hour based on experience.
  • Paid Time Off
  • Comprehensive Benefits
