Foley Eye Clinic is a patient-focused ophthalmology practice serving the Twin Cities with locations in St. Paul and Apple Valley. With over 25 years of experience, Dr. Foley and the team provide comprehensive, state-of-the-art eye care—including advanced diagnostics and surgical services—in a welcoming, team-oriented environment dedicated to improving and protecting patients’ vision.


Foley Eye Clinic is seeking a full-time Ophthalmic Technician to join our friendly, fast-paced team. In this role, you will support our ophthalmologists by performing clinical testing, assisting with procedures, and ensuring a smooth, comfortable experience for our patients.


We’re looking for a detail-oriented, compassionate professional who enjoys working with people and thrives in a collaborative clinical environment.


Schedule & Location

  • Full-time, Monday–Thursday(7:30am to 5pm), Friday (8am to 12pm)
  • Primary location: St. Paul, MN
  • Coverage 1 day a week in Apple Valley, MN
  • 3 weeks PTO, Paid holidays, 401K, Health Savings Account, and more

Key Responsibilities

Patient Preparation & Assessment

  • Welcome patients and document medical history
  • Perform workups including visual acuity, refraction, tonometry, and visual field testing
  • Administer eye drops and medications as directed


Diagnostic Testing & Procedures

  • Perform testing such as OCT, fundus photography, keratometry, pachymetry, corneal topography, and biometry
  • Assist physicians with exams and advanced diagnostic procedures


Documentation & Records

  • Accurately record exam findings, test results, and treatment plans in EMR
  • Maintain complete and organized patient charts


Equipment & Clinic Support

  • Clean and maintain exam rooms and ophthalmic equipment
  • Monitor inventory and assist with ordering supplies
  • Support clinic flow and assist team members as needed


Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • JCAHPO Certified Ophthalmic Technician (or eligible) preferred
  • 2+ years ophthalmic or related clinical experience preferred
  • Knowledge of ocular anatomy, diseases, medications, and diagnostic testing
  • Experience with EMR systems and basic computer skills
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and multitasking skills
  • Professional, dependable, and team-oriented
  • Commitment to patient confidentiality and high-quality care
