Job description

About the Opportunity As a Maintenance Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the proper functioning, reliability, and efficiency of equipment and machinery within the extrusion manufacturing plant. Some of the equipment includes resin handling equipment, extrusion and casting equipment, film stretching equipment, winding and slitting equipment, material handling equipment, scales, micrometers, tachometers, hand tools, and other related equipment. Shift: 12 hours night shift; 2/2/3 schedule Essential Duties and Tasks:
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks on extrusion machinery, including inspection, cleaning, lubrication, and calibration.
  • Conduct scheduled preventative maintenance activities to prevent unplanned downtime and maintain equipment performance.
  • Identify and diagnose mechanical, electrical, and operational issues in a timely manner.
  • Execute repairs and replacements of faulty components, collaborating with team members as needed.
  • Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns, malfunctions, or emergencies to minimize production disruptions.
  • Implement rapid solutions to restore functionality and prevent further issues.
  • Possess a strong understanding of extrusion equipment, mechanical systems, and electrical controls.
  • Interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams to facilitate repairs.
  • Maintain an organized inventory of spare parts, tools, and supplies needed for maintenance activities.
  • Coordinate w Accurately record maintenance activities, repairs, and parts replacements in logs and maintenance management systems.
  • Participate in identifying process enhancements and efficiency improvements, contributing to the optimization of maintenance practices.
  • Collaborate with production teams and other maintenance staff to share insights and ensure seamless communication.
  • Provide guidance and training to junior technicians when necessary.
  • Maintains regular, reliable attendance.
  • Support and contribute to a healthy and safe work environment by following all workplace regulations, policies, and initiatives, including reporting all first aid injuries, accidents, and workplace hazards.
What You Bring:
  • High school Diploma or equivalent education and experience; technical certification or vocational training in maintenance preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician in an extrusion or manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and control system issues.
  • Familiarity with extrusion equipment, hydraulics, pneumatics, and PLC systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex equipment problems.
  • Excellent communication skills to coordinate with different teams and convey technical information effectively.
  • Safety-conscious mindset with knowledge of safety protocols and regulations.
  • Ability to read technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry, maintenance tracking, and communication.
  • Physical capability to perform manual tasks, lift heavy objects up to 50 lbs., and work in varying conditions.
