JOB SUMMARY

The Polymer Welding Technical Specialist provides expert on-site welding and installation support to clients, installers, and engineers across the large diameter pipe and fittings, geosynthetic, and concrete protective lining industries. In this role, the Specialist also develops and delivers comprehensive in-house training programs for external partners and AGRU employees, serving as the company's primary technical authority on polymer welding methods and standards.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop, organize, and maintain current welding procedures for all Electrofusion (EF), Extrusion, Butt Fusion, and Hot-Wedge Fusion Welding, both internally and through active involvement with standards organizations such as ASTM and DVS.

Design, organize, and continuously improve training programs and materials covering all polymer welding methods.

Deliver certified welding training to customer technicians through field-based and in-house classroom/shop instruction.

Maintain accurate training records for all trainees, including certifications and renewal schedules.

Provide on-site technical support for pipe, CPL, and geosynthetics installation projects as directed, ensuring quality welding outcomes across all AGRU project sites.

Represent AGRU America professionally during client site visits, inspections, and project consultations.

Travel domestically and internationally as required (estimated 50-75% of the time).

Perform additional duties as assigned by management in support of company objectives.

Requirements

REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES

Valid U.S. Passport required.

Exceptional teaching, coaching, and mentoring abilities with the capacity to adapt instruction to varied audiences.

Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for resolving complex welding and installation challenges.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to produce clear technical documentation.

Ability to work independently in the field with minimal supervision, exercising sound professional judgment.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma or GED required.

Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Construction, Environmental, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering preferred
