Job description

Job Summary

Under the direction of the Extrusion Manager, the Extrusion Technician is responsible forย overseeing the running of extruders on the shift, setting the dies, completing documentation, and maintaining process parameters to ensure the manufacturing of quality products. This will be achieved while maintaining HellermannTyton's Quality and EHS certifications by supporting all corporate policies, procedures, work instructions, and required documentation.

Essential Functions:

  • Understand and follow all work instructions to set up, start, and put into production any extruded products
  • Ensure that all process parameters are maintained within the specification limits. Follow all instructions and directions set forth by the Extrusion Tech Lead.
  • Assist in training Extrusion Operators on the shift.
  • Understand and perform all aspects of tooling setups, cleaning of tools, and storage of tools.
  • Follow all instructions to maintain inventory control and cycle counts
  • Have good communication with the punch department. Maintain a safe and clean work area.
  • Communicate all quality and/or process issues to the Extrusion Manager, the Extrusion Technician Lead, and other necessary support departments.
  • Assist in maintaining HellermannTyton's IATF16949/ISO14001 certifications by supporting: Corporate policies, procedures, work instructions, and required documentation.

Other Functions:

  • Cross-train as a Punch Technician.
  • Perform Extrusion Operator functions as needed. Perform grinding duties as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Success in this Role Requires:

  • Understanding of extrusion processing, generally accepted manufacturing principles, with the ability to document non-conformances.
  • Read and interpret shop orders.
  • Understanding of inventory and the impact of cycle counting on company records.
  • Required Personal Protective Equipment * Safety shoes are to be worn at all times during your scheduled work hours.
