Job description

We are looking for experienced machine operators on 2nd and/or 3rd shifts.  Set-up and operator extruders to apply insulation material to copper conductor or cable core.  Shift differential and great benefits.  Apply today!

Today, EIS Wire and Cable Inc. operates a modern 125,000 sq. ft. facility based in Western Massachusetts and specializes in manufacturing a wide range of custom design and standard construction products-from single conductor hook-up wire to complex multi conductor composite cables.

Duties and Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Setup, adjust, and operate extruders to apply insulation material on copper conductor or cable core. 
  • Set up integral equipment pertinent to extruding wire and cable.
  • Able to read, write and follow verbal and written instructions in English.
  • Complete paperwork and enter computer transactions.
  • Use all test equipment accurately.
  • Must have good trouble-shooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Follow standard work instructions and perform all set-ups & color changes.
  • Have satisfactory attendance and performance record.
  • Stack reels on pallets
  • Train in Lean methods and participate in team projects such as set-up reduction to help reduce through-put time and increase productivity
  • May be required to evaluate work center issues about materials, machines and workloads and report current status to supervisors.
  • Perform quality checks. 
  • Understanding and adherence to the Kanban scheduling system
  • Sweep & clean work area at the end of the shift and follow all safety and housekeeping instructions and policies.

Requirements:

  • Pass a color identification test.
  • Ability to stand and/or walk for long periods of time.
  • Able to read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions in English.
  • Must have good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to lift 50 lb. with assistance
  • Reliable attendance
  • Position may have some required overtime

Schedule:

  • Full-time - 40+ hours per week
  • Monday to Friday (3rd shift starts on Sunday night at 11 pm) 
  • 2nd Shift 3pm-11pm
