Audio/Visual Engineer, Expert ALSO HAVE SME LEVEL Location: Chantilly, VA
Clearance: TS/SCI ISSA with FS poly
Salary: $230k–$250k with healthcare election | $250k–$270k without Position Overview
We are seeking an Expert-level Audio/Visual Engineer to develop, implement, and support enterprise AV, video distribution, and control systems for critical mission operations. This role requires strong hands-on engineering across video, broadcast communications, control, and DSP platforms, with the ability to independently diagnose and resolve complex system issues in multi-classification environments. Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, configure, test, and troubleshoot video distribution and encode/decode systems (Thinklogical, Haivision, etc.)
- Develop, implement, configure, test, and troubleshoot broadcast communications systems (Clear-Com, Riedel, etc.)
- Develop, implement, and test control system programming (AMX, Extron, Crestron) in multi-classification environments
- Upgrade operating systems and support the design of system enhancements
- Develop and maintain documentation for new and existing AV systems
- Create, implement, and test DSP configurations (BSS, Biamp, Extron)
- Configure AV devices, including enterprise-level network and security settings
- Conduct system testing to ensure solutions meet user and performance requirements
- Diagnose and resolve complex AV system and control program issues
- Provide specialized technical training and end-user support
- Contribute to special projects and cross-functional engineering initiatives
- Maintain current knowledge of emerging AV, control, and network technologies
- Coordinate with and maintain relationships with vendor support teams for major system components What You’ll Need to Succeed
- Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field, or equivalent hands-on experience
- 7+ years of experience engineering, integrating, and supporting enterprise AV systems
- Experience with video distribution and encode/decode platforms such as Thinklogical and Haivision
- Experience with broadcast communications and intercom systems such as Clear-Com and Riedel
- Control system programming experience with AMX, Extron, or Crestron, including work in multi-classification environments
- Experience creating and tuning DSP configurations (BSS, Biamp, Extron)
- Working knowledge of enterprise networking and security settings as applied to AV devices
- Strong troubleshooting and documentation habits
- Clear communicator, comfortable training end users and presenting to technical and non-technical audiences
- AVIXA CTS, CTS-D, or CTS-I and manufacturer certifications (Crestron, AMX, Extron) preferred What We Offer
